What Are Your Secret Moves?

I don’t know about you but as a Capricorn, it’s really hard for me to let loose and go with the flow. I like structure and planning and I’m always freaking out over something, even if it’s something little. I’m currently it the process of planning a conference for 250+ students and coordinating 45 panelists on my own. As crazy as this sounds, I was able to complete this all on my own last year without much help (and pulled of the most amazing event!). However, this year, a situation left me a whole week prior to the conference where I will not be in the office and will have to delegate my tasks. UGHHH. If I do it all by myself, I can do it better right??

I learned that through work, life, love, and fun, you have to go with the flow with all situations. There’s only so much you can plan before plans change. Here are my tips to going with the flow and getting out of your comfort zone in work and relationships:

  • Breathe
  • Know that you can’t control everything and some things may have to be improvised
  • Breathe
  • Get perspective. You’re not always right. Get over it!
  • Breathe
  • Go slow. Take your time because letting yourself go may come easy for some people. Take baby steps to accomplishing this.
  • Breathe
  • Get help. There are people who are experts in certain situations and are the best to guide you. You can’t always be in control.
  • Breathe

This past weekend, I was invited to the Artillery Ball with my favorite Veteran ;D. There was a pre-set schedule with dinner and an agenda which I was completely comfortable with. However, the most fun was when we actually crashed another party! Not only was the music good but it was thrilling knowing we weren’t supposed to be there and everyone welcomed us with open arms. Looking through the crowds of the unknown, could I have found my Peanut Butter??

Imagine how creative we can be if we can let go and get out of our comfort zones. Can we find the #onethatsticks??
